 8 Days here....

Woke about 7 again feeling quite a lot better (one of the nurses keeps describing me as being "disgustingly healthy" because I don't look for little things like pain killers...). Big day today, after my bath and dilation I got the guided tour of the ward (when I came in all I saw was the ground floor) with one of the care assistants. I had an alarming tendency to "list" to the left because that was the side I was carrying my catheter on, but other than that I was fine.

I spent the afternoon rearranging my furniture to make things a bit more comfy and then sat in the chair watching TV as opposed to sitting in bed TV (plus ca change...) I wanted to go out for a wander around the gardens, but, as luck would have it, after so many days of wonderful sunshine, the weather broke yesterday and it's been wet and cool every since.

Dilating has kind of fixed into a ritual now, I lay everything I need out on the bed, go have my bath and then relax to a CD or two during and then clean up again afterwards. The messiest aspect is probably just the Cicatrin that I have to apply to the stitch lines, I always seem to put too much on.

Pam rang again that night (She'd sent a beautiful bunch of roses by interflora that had arrived that afternoon) for another long chat (God knows what her phonebill is going to be like after this week!) Another call from my parents and that was it really. Nothing other than the no usual round of bath, dilate and then bed.
