And lo, on the 5th day

A lie-in today (!) until 8 so no wait for breakfast. The nurse told me to ask for a bedpan (double yuck) if I feel any movements but it's hard because as a side-effect of the antibiotics I keep getting terrible wind. So, as a result I've had another change of bed clothes today (this is where your dignity starts vanishing totally!) but at least I'm out of the T-bandage and into sanitary pads and pants and that is a lot more comfortable than the T-bandage.

Very boring, long quiet day, no visitors and no phone-calls other than Mammy and Daddy. They said they'd both come over but won't be able to find out about tickets until tomorrow. But even just hearing that was a huge relief, I didn't realise how much I'd been worrying about it until I heard they were coming.

Did nothing other than read the papers (at least. being Sunday there is a lot to read!) and watch TV then for the rest of the day. The hospital was pretty much empty (this being the bank-holiday weekend) so it was more quiet than usual. I did get to listen to a marching band that seemed to spend several hours marching somewhere in the distance... The highlights being my morning antibiotics and my night-time shot of Clexane (an anticoagulant). Went off to sleep about 11.
