I woke about 7.30, had breakfast and then bathed and dilated as usual (one of the things I had to work out was when to bath and dilate, mealtimes are 8, 12 and 6 so I ended up aiming for first bath about 9.30, second about 4.30 and then the last one about 10.30 at night). Mr. Royle was in shortly after breakfast and was in quite good form and nearly even chatted! He was very pleased with everything and said there was no problem about staying until tomorrow. Very long chat this morning with Delphine, the two of us have been trapped in here for most of the nice weather so we are constantly giving out about it! Since she's been on every day but one I've come to know her best of all the nursing staff. Dol rang in the morning and apologised for not getting over, she hadn't reckoned on all the extra bank-holiday traffic and wasn't able to get a flight. Lovely card from Z in the post this morning as well. I was all set to go out for a bit of a ramble around Woodingdean village this morning after my bath except for the small problem of it starting to lash rain. I was so desperate to go out that I seriously considered going out still, but I hadn't brought a raincoat or even umbrella (everything else mind you except for the kitchen sink!). Mammy and Daddy rang from the airport about 1 and said they'd got somewhere to stay in Brighton and they'd ring when they got in. I hung around waiting for them to ring and when they didn't I went ahead and had my afternoon bathing session. I was just finishing up my dilation when they arrived at my door, they'd hired a car instead of taking the train. I was relieved to see them and I think they were both relieved to see me up and about and dressed. They stayed for a couple of hours before going back to the hotel for dinner. In the course of the evening my brother rang to say my sister had fallen and been taken off to hospital with a suspected broken ankle which was a minor panic (she would chose an evening to fall when 3/5s of the family were out of the country!) That caused a major panic until we could get in touch with her and find out she was OK (it turned out to only be a sprain). After that I just watched some TV again and did the usual night-time routine before going off to sleep about 12 or so. |
