 Day the third

I came too about 7 and watched breakfast TV, though not taking a lot of it in. I had the "delight" of having my first clear fluid breakfast (until next Monday evening I won't have anything other than clear fluids and I'll basically have the same menu for breakfast, dinner and tea) and read what I could of the paper. I was surprised at how little pain I felt, they kept coming around with the medications trolley and offering me painkillers but I just said no thanks. My bed clothes were changed which was quite a bit of effort and uncomfortable on my part because I had to role over onto one side and then lift myself up as they pulled the clothes back under me. They also changed my T-Bandage but I didn't get to have a peek (to be honest I'm not bending too well!) Unfortunately they weren't too sure on how to tie the T-bandage again and kind of guessed it (another nurse came in later and tut-tutted about their knot tying skills!)

Helen arrived in about 11.30 and we chatted for a while, she was down for her 2nd referral. Daddy rang to see how I was feeling and at least this time I was able to hold a reasonably normal conversation :) Kate bounced in again, she'd had her catheter removed yesterday and was playing the role of a hospital visitor I think (and very welcome she was too, thanks Kate if you ever read this :) She should have been going home today but is staying until tomorrow until her sister can pick her up. Janamitra (who'd had surgery last Saturday) came in to see me in the afternoon, she is just up and about since yesterday and is still finding her legs :) Mr. Thorpe was back in again to check on me, while he was in he pointed out various landmarks that could be seen from my window (apparently the tower of the school at Rodene is one of them)

Mammy and Dad rang again that evening and later on that night to see how I was doing and that I was still OK. Off to sleep about 11.30 tonight.
