This took a bit of time, as no-one seemed to be sure if the RSI number contained details of gender so I didn't know if I would have to request a new RSI number as well. I started by ringing the Revenue Commissioners information line in Dublin and they suggested sending a copy of my deed poll to the local tax office. This I did, giving the reason why I was changing my name and requesting a new RSI number if necessary. Eventually after a second letter I got confirmation back from them to say that while there is no gender identifier in the RSI number, there is a gender identifier used on their internal computer records and that mine had been adjusted accordingly.
