Our meeting on Tuesday 14th November was our final meeting in Keane's Bus Bar before it closes down at the end of November. The paper entitled "From Megalithic Tombs to Martello Towers" given by Paul Mulligan was superb, and the evening was a resounding success.
Paul gave us an insight into the lives of our ancestors, who died and were buried thousands of years B.C. and forward to the centuries A.D. This was a detailed account with illustrations of many monuments, dwellings and burial sites.

He told us about middens, dolmens, passage tombs, hill forts, ringforts, fulachta fiadh, mediaeval churches, bell towers, and martello towers. This was a very enjoyable evening and John Harte proposed a vote of thanks on behalf of the Society and all present.
Our new venue will be The Coast Inn (corner of Church St. and New St.). The December meeting called "Christmas Fayre" will be held there.
