Censuses of Population and Developments in the Population of Skerries, 1901 - 2002.

Members were given an interesting and detailed paper by Eric Embleton at the meeting on Tuesday may 11th. 2004. We were shown the patterns which emerge through the different censuses over the years.

An important census was that of 1841, when for the first time a form was issued to be filled in by each household. The last census taken was that of 2002.

Anyone interested in learning more about the censuses can apply to study Eric's paper, which is now lodged in Skerries Historical Society's archive.
