Raiders of the lost Archive

Due to popular demand, old news from this page will be kept in an archive, up until now all old news was still listed and could be seen by scrolling down the page, however this has resulted in slower loading times for the page. Rather than delete old news items which may be of interest to newcomers we have decided to keep an archive. The archive will always be available from the bottom of this news page.. so for all ye olde news, you know where to go!!

IRC for Dummies
Now that the archive is created the link to view the "OLD" website is gone, the old website contained resources for internet newbies, There is a new site currently under construction, follow this link for a sneak peak, it contains info on how to get on irc etc.. (note:- many of the links dont work, so dont write in telling me that many of the links dont work) :)

Millenium Web site
The web site has had it's 1000th visitor some time this week, on checking today 11/11/98 there was 1022 visitors. This number is since recorded from the 14th of September 1998, so there has been 1000 in less than 2 months, this is way beyond all expectations of the site, so here's hoping for another 1000 before xmas :)
Also the mailing list is continuing to surprise, it now has 77 members and has received 291 mails to date since it's creation in September. Just where are all these people coming from??? and can we make 100 members on the list?

2 Gay fashion shows for November

Friday November 20th see's the 5th Annual "George Fashion Show" in the George of course.
Activity begins at 11:00 and its free entry in before 10:00
Also on the same weekend, Sunday the 22nd is FAME (Fashion & Music Extravaganza) which will be held in the Temple Bar Music Centre at 9:30. The event is in association with 'The Boilerhouse' and 'PVC Productions',
It's very curious that the only two gay fashion shows of the year are both on the same weekend.

Boyzone sing at gay rights charity gig
Ronan Keating, front man of Dublin boy band, boyzone sang on stage at a charity gig in the Albert Hall (uk) on Sunday night. The gig was in aid of gay and lesbian rights. Ronan was joined on stage by Elton John and also Gary Barlow (ex- take that singer) with whom he sang 'back for good', the event was attended by many celebrities and Ronan is said to be very chuffed at Elton John introducing him on stage.
Theres no info if Stephen or the rest of the boyz were present at the gig :)

November at the George
A new look to bingo? eeeek.. lets hope its a welcome change.. Bingo for Sunday Nov 8th is billed as "Shirley Dance", which advertises 'Shirley and her Irish Dancers will take the world by sorm in a whirl of jigs, reels and of course "organic farm"'
Sound like good news.. considering there was NO Organic Farm last Sunday, for those who havent been to 'Bingo' on a Sunday, there is a weekly soap opera called 'organic farm' in which the cast is made up of vegetables, There is also a less popular spin off soap called 'citrus grove', in which the cast is made up of fruit.
Saturday November the 14th brings back 'Chicken Tonight' and under 23's get in for freeeeeee (with ID)
