 The Homefield English Language School

Homefield Language School was established in 1989 and is recognised by the Department of Education as an English Language School for the teaching of English as a Foreign Language. It is also a member of R.E.L.S.A.

Your Individual Language learning needs are catered for in a highly professional and personal manner.

Each Morning
Is spent in the class room at English lessons from 10.00 hrs - 13.00 hrs.

Afternoon
We organise the activity of your choice. Each week the programme consists of 3 afternoons horseriding and stable management which is organised at Homefield Equestrian Trails, also affiliated to Homefield Language School which is situated on the edge of miles of golden beach. The school offers courses for beginners and advanced riders.
2 afternoons Surfing. Wetsuits and surf boards are provided by the local surf club. Instruction by Qualified Instructors.

1 Cultural Trip or shopping in Sligo or Donegal Town, Tour the hills of Donegal, Glenvagh National Park, and visit the grave of W.B. Yeats, the famous poet who you will learn all about in your morning class.

Sunday is a Free Day

Evenings
Are spent at the students leisure, either at the centre or with the host family. Our supervisors are always available.

The English Language Programme consists of 15 Hours of English Tuition per week with Bed & Breakfast, Lunch and Evening Meal included.

The participants have the option to stay in Homefield House, or with a local Host Family in the vicinity of the Language School. Early booking is advisable as Summer Holiday Classes are in great demand. Students are met at local airports and stations at no extra cost. Collection from Dublin or Shannon airports will incur an extra charge.

Horse Riding:

Homefield Equestrian Trails is situated on the edge of 10km (6 miles) of Golden Beach surrounded by rolling countryside offering an introduction to cross country trekking.

Surfing:

Bundoran has the best surfing coast in Europe and they say the best waves outside Hawaii can be found here. Surfing is available for all age groups with special training. Special training sessions arranged for those wishing to experience this sport. Qualified instructors are present at all times.

Waterworld:

Waterworld is an excellent indoor heated aqua adventure playground. Bundoran is a haven for the water sports enthusiast.

 

 

 Golf:

An 18 Hole Championship Golf Course is located nearby, where the resident golf professional is available to give lessons to both beginners and more advanced players. Mini Golf can be played at a local putting green.

Fishing:

Mullaghmore Harbour, less than 16km (10 miles) away from Homefield, offers excellent sea fishing. Boats, skippers and tackle are available and can be booked through the centre.

During the summer months, the catch can include cod, pollock, coal fish, thornback ray, skate, conger, tope, ling, blueshark and mackerel.

Lough Melvin, within close proximity to Homefield, is drained by the River Drowes which flows into the Atlantic. Salmon ascend the Drowes right around the year, except for a time in early November.

The rod and line season is opened on the Drowes from January to eptember. Lough Melvin is one of the best fly fishing lakes in Ireland with a plentiful supply of trout and salmon.

  

How to find us:

Bundoran is an attractive seaside resort situated in the south west corner of Donegal Bay, located on the main Sligo-Donegal Road (N17).

If travelling on a Bus from Dublin get off at Ballyshannon and get a Taxi.
Homefield Equestrian Trails is affiliated with Homefield English Language School.
Homefield is just 8km (5 miles) away from Ballyshannon.
There are three trains daily from Dublin to Sligo and also a regular Express Bus service to Ballyshannon and Sligo.

If you want to fly from England, there are direct flights from Stanstead to Knock with Ryan Air. Logan Air provides flights from Manchester to Knock. Otherwise, Aer Lingus offers flights to Knock and Sligo from Dublin with connections from most major European destinations.
