Donegal and it´s neighbouring counties of Sligo and Leitrim give the trail rider an insight into three of the most beautiful and untouched counties of what is known as the Wild North West.

The rider will be taken by an experienced guide through a landscape that changes from sandy beaches that are pounded by the Atlantic rollers, to cool forests, rugged misty mountains, bogland clad in purple heather, blue lakes and relaxing green pasture land.

To view this from the back of an Irish steed noted for it's temperament, character and stamina has to be experienced to be believed. Our rides last from one, two, three, four days, or even a full week.

The following is a typical four day package:

 Day 1 ~

When you arrive at the Centre or you are collected from either Sligo airport or Train Station you will be taken to your accommodation to settle in and meet your host.
Once settled you are then brought to the Equestrian Centre to be introduced to your equine partner for the next three days.
After your introduction the golden sands of Tullan Strand await you and your partner to canter/gallop on.
Returning from your ride it is home to freshen up and change for evening dinner and entertainment.

Day 2 ~

The following day your trail begins at the foot of Tievebaun mountain and meanders through boglands and heathery slopes until you reach your lunch time stop at Carrowoona where Sinead will be there to welcome you to her cottage for refreshments.
Bidding farewell to Sinead we take an old drover´s track towards the mystic lake of Glenade, home of the fabled Dobhaircu.

Above us are the crags of Largy cliffs where sometimes Ravens and Peregrine Falcons will be seen wheeling and screaming at each other.
The shores of the lake mark the end of the first days ride, here your transport will be waiting to take you back to your accommodation for a deserving hot shower clean clothes and a scrumptuous dinner.

Day 3 ~

The following day you rejoin your noble steed at Glenade Lough and traverse the bog road over the townlands of Barracashlaun to the village of Lurganboy where lunch awaits you in a glade in Twisspark wood.
After lunch we make our way up hill towards the summit of O´Donnell´s Rock where panoramic views of the valleys, hills and lakes lie below us.
Leaving the Rock behind us we descend into the valley where our transport awaits you to take you home.

Day 4 ~

After breakfast on your last day a final canter on Tullan Strand with your companion of the last three days before you leave.
