Discover one of Ireland´s best kept secrets on foot. |
Homefield
runs a Bord Fáilte Approved Hillwalking Programme, personally
organised and guided by our experienced staff, who offer information
on wildlife, archaeological sites and culture. Visit historical places, stately homes and remote beaches via winding roads and wild mountain passes. We cater for beginners and the avid hillwalker; offering ideal settings for either a leisurely stroll or a more challenging expedition. The two trails are "Steps Across Benbulben" and "The Bardic Way". |
The Bardic Way - For More Adventurous Walkers. The Bardic Way is a rugged trail of some 60 miles (96km) through the heart of Donegal. The hills offer ever changing landscapes and contrasting terrain´s with the sea never far away. The five day walk that is the Bardic Way will take you through ancient bog and forest. You will also travel along the history and traditions of Donegal, from the mythic stories of the Finn Valley to the present day pilgrimage site of Lough Derg. Steps Across Benbulben Steps Across Benbulben is a cirular walk based at Homefield, from where we follow the coastline to the fising village of Mullaghmore. From Mullaghmore we traverse the Benbulben Plateau and Dartry Hills giving the walker an opportunity to explore caves, disused mines, waterfalls and numerous Lough´s. |
