ASLEEP
UNDER THE DARK EARTH
|
This is a play written for the BT Connections scheme organised by the National Theatre of the UK. The scheme helps youth theatres by commissioning new work and also bringing a selected few to London as a showcase of youth theatre around the UK and Ireland. The Irish end of the project involves all groups taking part coming together in Belfast under the Lyric Theatre's team and viewing each other's work. 'Asleep' is similar in content to the Crucible, as it is set in a similar time frame and involves the fear of witchcraft, etc. But at its heart is a love story and the jealousy of a friend.
