Winning Photo in Radio Kerry's "Kerry Colours" Competition
22nd September 2000
People all over the Kingdom of Kerry have been frantically doing up their homes, business premises, cars (and whatever else you can think of) in green and gold over the last few weeks as part of Radio Kerry's "Kerry Colours" competition, held in association with the Albany Home Decor shop, Castle Street, Tralee. The reason for the panic was that the prize for the best photo was two tickets to Sunday's All-Ireland game in Croke Park as well as two return air tickets from Farranfore to the game - definitely something not to be sneezed at!

The closing date for receipt of entries was Thursday morning, 21st September and hundreds of entries were received. However there could only be one winner and the judges considered the photo of the effort made by the Crowley family, Killaha East, Kenmare to be the overall winner. As you can see from the photo, the house, the roof, the walls, the kids ..... and even the dog have all been appropriately kitted out in the Kerry colours and, yes, they've even incorporated the Radio station's logo into the scheme as well!! Well done to them and let's hope there aren't any arguments about who attends the big match!
Don't forget that Radio Kerry is broadcasting the big match live on their website at www.radiokerry.ie, so anyone anywhere in the world with internet access can catch it in all it's glory. If you're within Radio Kerry's normal listenership range (96.2, 96.6, 97 and 97.6FM), you might like to know that the station will be repeating it's broadcast of the match on Sunday night, 24th September at 9:00pm.
