Experts Agree On Match - It'll Be a Good One!
Speaking on Thursday's All-Ireland Preview programme with presenter, Seamus O'Mahony, on Radio Kerry were former Kerry footballers, Ger O'Keeffe and John Kennedy, John O'Dowd of the Kerryman newspaper, Ambrose O'Donovan, Páidí Ó Sé, Donal Keenan of Ireland on Sunday newspaper and James Mahon, PRO, Galway County Board. Here are some snippets taken from their hour-long discussion of Sunday's game:

Ger O'Keeffe expressed the view that he was worried that it took Kerry a long time to get back into the game in the second-half of the replay match against Armagh. "However", he said, "they eventually won in style".
John Kennedy said "there are excellent players on both teams (Galway and Kerry) and if weather conditions are good it will be a thriller. It'll be decided in the middle of the field but it's a hard one to call". John O'Dowd commented that "both teams will go out to play football and the best team will win".
Páidí Ó Sé said that this game wasn't the last one of the year for his team. "Remember, when this game is over, the players have two months of domestic games to play. But I'd still like to turn back the clock and join them".
Ambrose O'Donovan said that Kerry had something which Galway was badly lacking: "We have a forward line capable of scoring goals at critical times and that's a great asset". Ger O'Keeffe agreed: "Kerry have already had a number of tough games and I believe that the extra periods under pressure will stand to us".
John O'Dowd was fullsome in his praise of one particular Kerry player. "It will be a tough test of Kerry's credentials", he said. "But remember, Michael Francis Russell only needs a yard to do damage!".
Donal Keenan of Ireland on Sunday sounded a note of caution for Kerry: "I have a sneaking feeling that Galway have a bit more in the tank", he said. "If the Galway forwards get the same chances as Armagh , then Kerry will be in deep trouble".
The final words are left to James Mahon PRO of the Galway Board who took part in the discussion by phone: On weather conditions: "We've had a wet ball in every game this year. We've got used to it but we'd still prefer a dry ball."
On the mood of the county: "The atmosphere in Galway at the moment is great. I drove through Portumna and Dunmore today and I noticed that every house had a flag on it."
On memories: "Speaking on Radio Kerry here reminds me of the time I played for Tarbert against Moyvane in the '50's. Fr. Pat Ahern (from Siamsa) played for Moyvane. They were great times! I'd like to send best wishes to my sister who is living down there (in Kerry) and I hope she's flying the Galway flag!"
On the result: "Win, lose or draw, I hope it'll be a great match!".
