Sonny Knowles Packs Them In!
The sight of popular Irish performer, Sonny Knowles, doing his famous "window-cleaning" act was enough to send the audience in Tralee into a frenzy on Saturday night, 24th June, when he performed to a packed house at the John Mitchel's Football Club.
Sonny was accompanied on the night by the Curtin backing band, with Billy Curtin, Sean Power and Joseph Connor. The audience was treated to some of the great songs, many made famous by Sonny himself many years ago, as well as the standards like "Blueberry Hill" and "South of The Border".
It was a great night's entertainment for everyone who attended and Sonny was delighted at the warmth of the welcome which he received. It has been six years since he last performed in Tralee. He told TraleeTown.com "I'm in semi-retirement at present and living at home in Terenure in Dublin. I only perform on special occasions now and for people who I think will enjoy my singing, like in Tralee, where I am always made to feel specially welcome! It's lovely to be here."
