Tralee basked unashamedly in the glorious Summer sunshine which graced the Kingdom over the past few days, as temperatures reached 27 degrees Celsius.
Many people decided to stay in town rather than venture out to the beach, so warm was the weather. However, Banna beach was packed as others, both locals and holiday-makers galore, decided to enjoy the unseasonally high temperatures by the sea.
The Town Park as well as the many new items of street furniture provided convenient places for young and old to rest their weary limbs and soak up the Mediterranean-like weather. The Weather forecasters are predicting the current heat-spell (not heatwave, yet) to last for the next week at least.
And you know that the Festival is close at hand when you see the Festival lights going up. On Sunday morning, the workers were out early, putting the lighting in place in Denny Street for this year's Rose of Tralee International Festival. Although the event is still almost four weeks away, work has already started to prepare Tralee for the big event.
