In this year's imaginative Festival line-up there really is a "something for everyone" feel to the high-quality entertainment that is available absolutely FREE.
FRIDAY 24th AUGUST
- INXS, one of the world's greatest bands, headlines the opening of the Rose Festival with a free concert. This will be the band's first and only appearance in Ireland this year since the tragic death of lead singer Michael Hutchence. INXS will be supported by Revellino.
SATURDAY 25th AUGUST
- In the afternoon the whole family can enjoy historical Rose Tours, teddy bears' treasure trails and ballroom dancing displays in the Dome.
- This year's evening parade promises to be different, exciting and colourful with acclaimed costume designers Mahogany bringing a "Rio Carnival" feel to the streets.
- The party atmosphere will continue with a free concert by Kila and a selection of other bands.
SUNDAY 26th AUGUST
- The Luminarium, a 10,000 square foot structure of light-infused mazes will be positioned in the Town Park for children and adults alike to wander through. The Luminarium is constructed by Architects-of-Air.
- Other activities include "Extreme Sports" exhibitions, street theatre, Tumble Circus displays and a concert for children by No Angels.
- In the early evening a designer catwalk Fashion Show will take place in the Dome while Dickie Rock and Red Hurley play in the fantastic "Rock and Red Show" in the Brandon Hotel.
- On the outdoor stage Aslan will play a free concert and the Dome's later evening entertainment will be headlined by Trade, winners of the "Best Club Night" at the recent London Bar and Club Awards. Trade will team up against two of the world's premier female DJ's Anne Savage and Lisa Pin Up.
Note: There will NOT be a Town Park Extravaganza this year.
MONDAY 27th AUGUST
- Phats and Small take time out from their world tour to perform for the people of Tralee and they will be joined by Jon Pleased Wimmin and local Paudi Cronin. Trade, in conjunction with Tranceart, the best club decorators in the dance music industry will bring a unique full production to the Dome.
- A charity Gospel recital will be held in St John's Church in the afternoon.
- In the evening the legendary Jools Holland will give a free concert on the main stage with his 18 piece Rhythm and Blues Orchestra.
TUESDAY 28th AUGUST
- The Festival's main attraction, the hugely successful British singer Gabrielle, will give Tralee an exciting and dazzling concert on Denny Street's main stage. Tickets for this event cost £10 each.
