The Eversons of Occold

Hezekiah Everson was born 1804 in Occold and died June 8, 1863 and buried in Occold on June 11 1863 in Occold.

I am unable to find Hezekiah's birth or christening. He would fit into the following family

Richard Everson born about 1761
His children

Name Christening Place Died Place
Naomi 1 April 1781 Occold
Ezra 6 October 1782 Occold 14 July 1782 Occold
Theodosia 16 May 1784 Occold 5 March 1802 Occold
Pamela 29 May 1787 Occold
Richard 20 July Occold 14 April 1851 Occold
Mary 23 May 1790 Occold
Eliz 17 March 1792 Occold
John 1795 Occold
Bathsheba 25 July 1802
Bathsheba married GEORGE PECK, December 29, 1824, Occold; b. Abt. 1802, Market Weston. The marriage of Bathsheba to George is partly guesswork (well how many Bathsheba Eversons can you find!). The interesting point is that the Witnesses were Hezekiah Everson and Elizabeth Everson. So this links Hezekiah to this family

John Everson married Sarah Last. She was born Bet. 1795 - 1803 in Occold and died January 1882. Their fourth of eight children was Mary Everson born 1841 in Occold. She married a Double. At the time of the 1881 census she was widowed and living in Lee, Kent. Her eldest son George was born in Occold. Her mother, Sarah Everson aged 86 was living with them also a niece, Sarah Hart aged 22 from Driffield, York
.
In our Everson Birthday Book are people by the name of Double. eg E E Double born 1860, Samuel Double born 1856. As Hezekiah was a witness at Bathsheba's wedding I would like to think he was her younger brother or perhaps the son of her eldest brother. This is of course pure speculation. Any thoughts on the subject would be appreciated.

To continue with Hezekiah, he married Charlotte Steggall on November 7, 1825 in Occold, following banns, the daughter of William Steggall and Mary Orford. Charlotte Steggall was christened on March 24 1805 in Brockford, she was buried on October 17 1885 in Bedingfield.

They had the following children:

In 1841 Hezekiah was described as a hawker living at Norwich Road, Brockfield & Wetheringsett. In 1851 he lived at 32 Occold Street, Occold. In 1861 he was a blacksmith.
