The Northside Folklore Project Exhibition
In 1998 The Heritage Council
awarded The Northside Folklore Project a grant to facilitate the creation of a
multi-media exhibition which would represent the work of project staff to the
greater community, both here at home and abroad.
The exhibition was designed by students of the Higher Diploma in Irish Heritage Management Studies at University College, Cork over a twelve week period and was launched in Cork in October 1998.
Among the topics dealt with by the exhibltion were The Schools, The Travelling Community, The Harriers, Roy Keane, The Showbands and a general look at what exactly folklore is.
Since its launch, the exhibition has been staged at a number of locations, including libraries, banks, schools and exhibition centres. It is intended that the exhibition will travel abroad over the next few months.
