Ranking System Rules
The IUSA rankings shall be calculated based on a low-point scoring system.
The winning college shall be the college with the least points after all
the events have been sailed.
The rankings shall include a college's score from the National Intervarsity
Championships and shall include the two best scores from the Southern,
Western and Eastern Intervarsity Championships
Colleges tied on points shall be split depending on which one had the lower score in the National Intervarsity Championships.
Failing that, the tie-breaking methods in Appendix A of the RRS shall be used, treating each event as a race in a series.
A college shall gain points equal the position of its highest placed team
in a ranking event, with the following exceptions:
1. The team placed in first shall gain only 0.75 of a point for its college.
2. Any college that does not have a team in attendance at an event shall
get points equal to the highest points recieved by any attending college
plus one.
3. Teams not representing an IUSA affiliated college shall be disregarded
when calculating a team's final position for the purposes of the rankings.
4. A college that becomes affiliated to IUSA after attending an event shall
be incuded in a revised ranking for that event only if there are more events
still to be sailed in that ranking league.
