My book 'Ireland's Lighthouses A Photo Essay ~ by John Eagle' was going to print and all I had was the vague up the cliffs shot (#86), I tried changing the colour of the sky to make the lighthouse stand out more, but decided I needed to go up and take new pictures. I had just returned from Florida in October 2009 and after a couple of days rest I saw a chance of good weather on the forcast and drove up to Mayo. I missed the ferry so had to get someone to pick me up. In the morning I got these shots, and a couple of hours later the rain returned, but it was easily worth going all the way up there
