Globetrotter Padraig Harrington has signed a deal with Bord Fáilte to promote Irish golf tourism.
As part of the deal Harrington will sport a ‘Golfing in Ireland’ logo on his bag, appear in advertising campaigns promoting Irish golf tourism and support Irish Golf Tourism events around the world.
He said: "It is always great to be associated with something you believe in. I am passionate about Ireland, its golf courses and related attractions.
“I am delighted to have been selected as a spokesperson and promoter of Irish golf tourism by Bord Fáilte and look forward to representing them in the future.”
The multi-year agreement was announced yesterday by the Minister for Arts, Sport and Tourism, John O'Donoghue.
Golfing holidays are worth an estimated EUR €144 million a year to the Irish economy with 250,000 overseas golfers visiting the country this year.
