Members and friends of Skerries Historical Society were treated to a delightful talk - 85 years of history condensed into 60 minutes by Pearse Cahill in his lecture entitled "My life and Iona Airways" on Tuesday 14th. May, 2002.
Cars, motorbikes and airplanes all featured in his work and leisure. Pearse's father founded a flying school at Kildonan in Finglas, where some of the first Aer Lingus pilots were trained. He himself learned to fly planes at an early age and then taught many to fly.

Motor bike and car racing were his leisure time activities. He won many trophies e.g The Leinster Trophy race and the Circuit of Ireland rally.
Pearse had a wonderful selection of slides, which he used throughout as he reminisced on a life spanning from 1916 to the present day.
Roderick Neary proposed the vote of thanks.
