Desmond Ryan has over 25 years experience in international business particularly in the area of management and venture consultancy. He is a Chartered Accountant by profession. He is an experience international trainer with significant exposure to many of the countries in the Middle East and beyond. He has a particular expertise in programmes dealing with strategic management; Balance scorecards and key performance indicators and finance and budgeting as well as the soft skills subjects that are important for companies. As part of his work experience he has carried out a wide range of consulting and training assignments throughout Europe and in the Phare countries such as Poland, Hungary, Bulgaria, Greece, and Kazakhstan and in the MEDA region including Jordan, UAE-Dubai, Qatar, Oman, Bahrain, Egypt, and Syria. In addition he has worked on assignments in Africa, Canada and the USA as well as Ireland. He has specific hands-on selection, evaluation and monitoring experience with numerous small to medium (SME) projects. His preparation of comprehensive investor oriented business plans has resulted in the creation of a significant number of viable businesses. He has worked on a range of projects for the European Commission such as the EU Science Parks Transnational Programme.His Consultancy Company specialises in the implementation and development of effective business and financial planning. He has assisted both public sector and private clients in technology, manufacturing, services, e learning, construction and consumer sectors in the development of effective business strategies with an emphasis on financial planning and market research as a prelude to raising finance. Prior to establishing his consultancy company he worked for Arthur Andersen in Vancouver, Canada and for the Canadian Federal Government.
