WilliamBathe (1560 –1614)

 

Born Dublin 1560. Jesuit and writer Studied at Louvain and Padua, became Rector of the Irish College at Salamanca. He died in Madrid 17th June 1614. Author of  the works referenced as follows:
 

• "A Brief introduction to the true arte of musicke etc" lately set forth  by William Bathe, student at Oxenford. London 1584.
• Another edition was issued under the title of  "A brief introduction to the skill of song concerning the practice set forth by William Bathe, gent London (1590)
