Henry Robinson Allen 

Cork 1809 - Hammersmith  1876 Composer & Tenor. Allen studied at the R. A. M .He fisrt appeared in Mozart's Nozze di Figaro in 1831. Afterwards he sang in opera mainly in London till about 1856, when he decided to teach singing. He died in Hammersmith on 27th  November 1876. He composed many songs ,the following are the best known  Adaline; As steals the dew; Bella Donna would'st thou know; Broken spell; Dearest, wake; Dear Halls of my Fathers; Green are the hills; Maid of Athens (1861); Mine only mine; Pilgrim's lament; Sea is calm; When first we met; When we two parted. Etc.
