Competition Classes
Elite: H/D 21
Long: H/D 21
Short: H/D 21
Open: H/D 10,12,14,16,18,20,35,40,45,50,55,60
Novice: H/D Men/Women
Classes may be combined or removed depending on the number of competitors.
Approximate winning times for days 2 and 3 will be 85 mins. on the Men's Elite
and 70 mins. on the Women's Elite.
'Non-competitave' entries will be available on the H/D 10/12 courses with
supervision allowed by an adult.
Competition Areas
These are all based within 60 mins. of Inchigeelagh, Co. Cork. All maps are
mostly complex open terrain - ie. lots of hills, re-entrants, spurs,
marshes, boulders but very few paths, fences, walls, etc ... There will
be some forest in Gougane Barra. All maps will be available
at 1:10,000 and 1:15,000 and 5 metres contour interval.
Have a look at the Old O-Ringen maps.
There are even sections of the Bear na Gaoithe and Crohane maps available.
Entry Fees
- Entries before 1 May 1999
- Adults: £8.00 per day
- Students: £6.00 per day
- Juniors: £4.00 per day
- Families: £20.00 per day
- Entries postmarked after 1 May 1999
- Adults: £10.00 per day
- Students: £7.00 per day
- Juniors: £5.00 per day
- Families: £25.00 per day
- There is a £2.00 fee per entry to cover postage etc..
- A family consists of Parent(s) plus children in classes H/D18 or
younger.
- Make cheques payable to Shamrock O-Ringen 1999
- Eurocheques can only be accepted by Irish banks if the Cheque Card number is provided and the currency specified is Irish Pounds.
- Bank Drafts must be drawn in Irish Pounds.
- Sterling Cheques will be accepted. The entry form asks that you add 6% to cover commission.
Programmes
Programmes will be posted to all applicants whose entries are received prior to
10 May 1999. For late entries, control cards and programmes may be collected
at registration in the car park on Day 1 from 14.00 onwards.
Sport Ident
It is likely that the Sport Ident E-cards will be used.
Entries
Entries will be accepted up to the event and on the day if maps and time slots are available.
Entries are accepted on the understanding that competitors take part at their
own risk
