4th LUBE party - August 2000
Over 120 men attended the LUBE at
Lynch's event held over the August Bank Holiday Weekend. As usual
the crowd began to arrive early and the party really got going by 10:30
p.m. We had many new faces from Cork, the North and a few men from
England. There was a good mixture of fetish styles including
Leather, Rubber and Skins. There was not as many men in Uniform,
unlike previous parties.
This was the 4th LUBE party at Lynch's. We hold these events
usually on Bank Holiday weekends. These events have arisen out of a
close collaboration between LUBE and John the owner of Lynch's Bar on
Thomas Street. Since they began we have been attracting on average
140 men to each event. By popular demand we operate a strict dress
code policy at the door.
We do this so
that we can create a space for men into Leather, Rubber, Bears, Uniforms
and Skins. Dublin provided so few opportunities for us to get
together. Most of us are tired of having to travel outside Ireland
to find such spaces.
We will be advertising the next event in Gay Community News and on the
Web.
Our Dress Code Policy is:
Men in full Leather, Rubber, Uniform, Army gear
Skinheads - tight jeans, Fred Perry shirts, braces, shaved heads
Bears in denim, boots, check shirts.
Other: Black or blue denim with boots, T shirts, and some rubber,
leather.
Not accepted: casual clothing, dress/club shirts, business dress, Dockers
etc.
