Australian disco diva Kylie
Minogue is to join "Rock DJ" Robbie Williams in a raunchy duet of
their current hit single "Kids" at the MTV Europe Music Awards 2000 at
The Globe, Stockholm, it was revealed today by MTV Networks Europe. The event
will be screened exclusively live by MTV UK & Ireland at 8pm on 16th
November 2000.
Also joining the guest
presenters taking their turn behind the MTV prize-winner’s podium at
Europe’s "music Oscars", will be Patsy Kensit, multi-talented
brother and sister Eagle Eye and Neneh Cherry, Italian designers Dolce &
Gabanna, Darren Hayes from Australian band Savage Garden, Spanish superstar
Julio Iglesias, pop legend Grace Jones, Beverley Hills 90210 actor Jason
Priestley, and "American Beauty" scene-stealer Thora Birch.
The latest names join a top
international line-up of previously announced guest presenters including:
Anastacia, Aqua, The Cardigans, Bruce Dickinson, Eiffel 65, Andreas Johnson,
Kelis, Virginie LeDoyen, Roisin from Moloko and Sonique. Masterminding order
amongst the glittering cast of performers and presenters in the role of host of
the MTV Europe Music Awards 2000, is the multi-talented Wyclef Jean. The
dazzling performer line-up for the 7th annual MTV Europe Music Awards
includes U2, Backstreet Boys, Bomfunk MC’s, Guano Apes, Jennifer Lopez,
Madonna, Moby, The Spice Girls, Ricky Martin, Robbie Williams and Ronan Keating.
With voting for the 2000
MTV Europe Music Awards already double that of 1999 with 2.5 million votes
received so far, and two weeks still to go, MTV is predicting a thrilling battle
to win the coveted awards at Europe’s most prestigious music awards ceremony.
While MTV expects votes to reach more than 5 million by 16 November, all voting
patterns are kept a strict secret, so that none of the winners is revealed until

The 2000 MTV Europe Music
Awards will air on MTV networks around the world to a potential worldwide
audience in excess of 1 billion people. In Europe, the show will air between
20:00-22:00 GMT/21:00-23:00 CET, with additional terrestrial broadcasts reaching
millions more viewers in at least 20 countries including: UK, Sweden, Ireland,
Iceland, Turkey, Finland, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland, Ukraine,
Argentina, Brazil, Canada, Dominican Republic, Lebanon, Mexico, Morocco, New
Zealand and Singapore.
