 ANOTHER PLACE AND TIME

Enda Markey’s professional career has spanned over 14 years.  While still at school he was chosen to appear in A Child’s Christmas in Wales at the Abbey Theatre.  This led to six years training in the Digges Lane Performing Arts School, followed by a scholarship to study at the renowned Laine Theatre Arts School, where he studied on the Musical Theatre Course for three years.

Leading roles in top West End Musicals such as A Slice of Saturday Night, and the world premiere cast of Vice Versa followed Enda’s time at college.

In 1996 Enda become the youngest person ever to star in a production of Side By Side By Sondheim, appearing with Rebecca Storm and Brendan O’Carroll.  In 1997 he recreated the part of Rick in the sell-out Dublin production of A Slice of Saturday night.  More recently, he devised and starred in his own show, Among Friends in Dublin.

Enda’s television appearances include This Life as well as numerous guest appearances on various shows.

Another Place and Time could be aptly described as Enda’s tribute to the world of musical theatre.  The album contains songs from and inspired by musicals, including shows in which Enda has appeared, in addition to some new pieces.   The music of Stephen Sondheim, Stephen Schwartz, Kander & Ebb and Rodgers & Hart is featured as well as the title song from the Australian musical, Only Heaven Knows by Alex Harding.

“I’m really excited about launching ‘Another Place and Time’” says Enda, “recording the album was a relatively new thing to me, but I have fulfilled another ambition!  This album is just the beginning of things to come; it was a passion from start to finish.  I hope that people will enjoy listening to it, as much as I enjoyed making it!”

Another Place and Time, was recorded in Dublin and is available from music stores nationwide.
