Comments on Syzygy
This is an astonishing book - a pair
of poems, The Drift and The Net, with the latter being
constructed from lines in the former, the whole thing a compositional
tour-de-force. The author compares the structure to a canon by
Machaut, but also explains the form as being an adaptation of the
mediaeval cancrizans. Formally extraordinary, it is even more
extraordinary that the whole thing works. (Anthony Frazer, Shearsman
