A SPECIAL ROSE AT TERRE HAUTE, USA.

A Grace received through the intercession of St.Therese on the occasion of her relics visiting Terre Haute USA.

Sally Davis, a young married woman first called into the Carmelite Monastery in Terre Haute, a few weeks before the Relics were due to visit. She spoke to the Sister at the Turn and asked for prayers because she had developed a tumour and was very worried. She said that she had never visited the Monastery before as she belonged to another parish in town. The Sister told her to place her trust in God, assured her of the Nuns prayers, and added how fortunate it was that St. Therese was visiting shortly. Sister encouraged Sally to try and attend one of the Masses on 4th November in St. Benedict’s Church. All the events of the 4th had to be scheduled to take place in the largest Church in town because of the big crowds expected.

The Relics arrived at the Church about 5.00am (all the Nuns and a good crowd were present to welcome them). The Bishop’s Mass was at 11.00am where a thousand people squeezed into the Church. After Mass a steady throng filed past the Casket to touch it and pray their petitions. One Sister was helping two tiny Altar Servers to get close to touch the Relics, and turning round Sister met Sally trying to get near. Making a space for her, Sister invited Sally to put her hand on the Casket and ask St Therese to take care of her. Together they prayed for about seven minutes in silence. Afterwards they had a few words together, Sally introducing her Mother who was close behind, and promising to visit the Monastery after she had seen the Doctor.

About two weeks later a radiant Sally turned up at the Monastery. She had just seen the Doctor and the tumour had disappeared. Sally looked a different person, absolutely blooming! Then she told Sister that after the Mass on the 4th when she got into her car, her Mother asked what perfume she was using. Sally responded that she wasn’t using scent and then she smelled the strong fragrance of Roses too. It was so strong that it clung to her clothes!!

Sally and her family had a special Mass of thanksgiving in the Carmelite Chapel on Christmas Morning.
