Mary Ann Denny was born September 9, 1844 in Harleston  She married Walter Mayes about 1870, son of William Mayes and Ann. He was born about 1846 in Pulham. In 1881 Walter and Mary were living in Chelmondiston, Suffolk and had two more children, Walter who was born in 1874 in Ipswich and Charlotte who was also born in Ipswich in 1876.
