23 - Radial Levels and Christian Mysticism
Though Christian mysticism may be lacking - by comparison with Eastern traditions - in the detailed clarification of contemplative states of development, in general I would consider it superior in terms of the balanced manner in which it deals with these final radial stages of development (where both dual and nondual aspects are combined).
Two Christian writers in particular I would mention who properly preserve this balance are Richard of St. Victor and the great Flemish mystic Ruysbroeck.
