What's New ...
Dec: A long and enjoyable Christmas break. Donal (snr) travelled over for Christmas. The New Year / Century was ushered in with a small gathering here. A low key affair, the whole family stayed up to hear the fireworks being let off in far distant (other) parts of Newbridge. In summary, the sleeping patterns for the whoe family shifted by about 3 hrs during the 'holiday period'.
Nov: Socially uneventful month so far. I gave a talk to Newbridge Chamber on the subject of eCommerce security. The ladies of the house (Granny included) went off to London to see Mamma Mia - no wonder my bank balance is precarious these days and Christmas is almost upon us !
Oct: Visited Prague (Praha) on the 17-20th of the month. I attended my class reunion (Caoga hAonu Rang) in Athlone which had a good turnout.
Sep : Co-opted onto Newbridge Chamber of Commerce. Completed another Liffey Descent - with one capsize.
Aug : Both Donal and Sarah went to Delphi this year. We (including Kieran) took the opportunity to spend a few days at the Connemara Coast Hotel. The getaway was great but the hotel is overrated.
Jul : Celebrated Granny's 70th birthday with a
family gathering in Cork. Gemma James and Ross are up from Tasmania for the event and they stayed for most of July. Granny was delighted to see Gemma. We spent a few days holidays in Carne after the party.
Jun : . Sean Cunningham's ordination was celebrated in Tuam & Ballinasloe.
May : Busy weekend on the 22-23 May. I said goodbye to Intel and Donal had his confirmation. I spent saturday recovering from my sendoff, but did manage to get some things done. Donal's confirmation was celebrated with a 'bouncing castle' and a crowd of relations about the house. Karen Howe married Declan Conway - and the world wide web knows it now Karen !!! Marie & Annette went on their trip to Upstate NY (8-15 May) and had a great time - Thanks Veronica.
Apr : We sojourned at Trabolgan during Easter. That was a success with everyone including Granny !
Mar : St Patricks Day was brilliant almost summerlike with the warmth. The following weekend I made a trip (pilgrimage) to see the Irish rugby team well beaten by the Scots at Edinburgh.
Feb: Marie had to cancel her trip to the US Upstate NY. Marie was due to travel with Annette Casey on a shopping expedition, but that is now postponed and both are anxiously looking for a new date.
