Des and Pat Lavelle have a long-standing relationship with the Skelligs - through Lighthouse family history, through an interest in the islands' seabirds and ocean life, through Skellig Michael's fascinating National Monument monastic site, and through Des. Lavelle's book " The Skellig Story" published by The O'Brien Press, Dublin

From April to September (subject to the sea conditions of the moment), Des lavelle's boat, the "Beal Bocht" sails daily to cruise by Small Skellig and land for about two and a half hours on Skellig Michael.
