Colaiste Ide A collection of ogham stones are situated along the driveway to Colaiste Ide/Burnham House, these ogham stones were placed here by Lord Ventry, four of these stones were removed from a site at Ballinrannig, one from Burnham East and one from Ballineesteenig, I am unsure were the seventh stone came from. There was also a small cross inscribed stone removed from Ballinrannig. The picture top left shows all seven stones lining the driveway. |

The second image shows one of the stones from Ballinrannig, CISP No Balig 2/1, The inscription is very clear and reads, MAQQI CUNITTI South Face right angle (Shown left) (M)A(Q)QI QETTI(A)South Face Left angle This stone stands at 1.18 metres high, is 0.4 metres wide and 0.22 metres thick. |

The image on the left shows another stone from Ballinrannig, CISP No Balig1/1. Parts of this inscription are also very clear and runs along both sides of the South face it reads, DUBONIRRAS MAQQI TENAC( ) The last two scores are damaged although one is said to be C the other score is to difficult to read. This stone stands at 0.99 metres high, 0.33 metres wide and 0.22 metres thick. In the background you can see the cross inscribed stone that was also removed from Ballinrannig. |

The next image on the right shows a third stone from Ballinrannig CISP No Balig 3/1.The inscription on the stone reads, ( )NAVICAS MAQI MUCO(I) ( )S The final word is represented by only one letter and impossible to interpret. The stone stands at 1.16 metres high and is 0.34 metres wide by 0.14 metres thick. |

A fourth stone from Ballinrannig is pictured on the left. CISP No Balig 4/1. This stone stands at 0.91 metres high,o.26 metres wide and 0.25 metres thick. This stone bears the inscription, BROINIONAS |

Taken from a site at Ballineesteenig CISP No Balee, this long rounded water rolled boulder also known as a pulvinar is 1.98 metres long and 1 metre in circumference. The inscription reads, MOINEA MAQI OLACON first discovered in 1790 this stone was later broken in two. There is a small latin cross also inscribed on this stone.

It is not known exactly where the pulvinar stone, pictured left originally came from,CISP No Brham /1/1 it measures 1.05 metres long and 1.15 metres in circumference. The inscription reads, MAQQI ERCCIA MAQQI MUCOI DOVINIA

I have no information on the final stone in this collection, pictured right. Situated: Along the driveway to Colaiste Ide/Burnham House. From Dingle take the R559 west after 21/2 kilometres you should see a sign for Colaiste Ide on your left. Discovery Map 70: V422 997. Last visit September 2003.
