MacDermott and MacGough

MacDermott & MacGough are an artistic collaboration originally hailing from New York, currently based in the Temple Bar Studios, Dublin (and somewhere contiguous, but not quite identical, with the twentieth century). They work in a variety of media including painting and photography, often employing antiquated photographic apparatus and processes. Their work came to the attention of the international artworld with the success of their "A Friend of Dorothy, 1943" painting at the 1987 Whitney Biennial. Their work has been exhibited internationally and documented extensively in the international artpress. This is the first time their work has been exhibited in Ireland. Six of their works are in the show.
