The Association has agreed to act as one of the backers of the planned Crumlin Community Development Project. This would be one of a number of projects throughout the country which are financed by the Department of Social, Community and Family Affairs: so far none has been set up in Dublin 12.
The focus of the CDP's work would be in the area between Rafter's Road/Keeper Road and Blarney Park/Lorcan O'Toole Park. It would act in co-operation with the community development work of the KWCD Partnership, but its work would be more directed towards stimulating community organisations and encouraging participation and networks. A plan has been submitted to the Department and the organisers are now awaiting the Department's agreement to fund the Project.
The Association, along with other community organisations, would be a member group of the CDP. The majority of the management committee which would supervise the spending of the money is drawn from these organisations. The Association's Committee has appointed John Goodwillie as representative on the CDP committee.
