There are many reasons to visit Donegal, none less evident than the dramatic and unspoilt scenery along the county's long coastline.  Inland too, there are many mountains, lakes and valleys that are second to none in the country!  Below are included some shots of Donegal's amazing scenery and you can click on the thumbnail to view the picture in a new window. Also included are some photographs of artefacts that may be of interest to you.  Note that larger files may take longer to download depending on the speed of your internet connection (you can find out the actual size of the file by holding the mouse over the appropriate picture).

Ballymastocker Bay, Fanad. This is one of the best beaches in Ireland, and is located approximately 4 Km outside Rathmullan.  It was recently voted the "second best beach in Europe" by a well-known London newspaper, in its holiday section.

The small twisting roads on the way to  West Donegal and a little village called Teelin bear no resemblance to the spectacular that awaits any visitor to  Slieve League.  This is the name of the mountain that dramatically drops down to the sea displaying one of the most breathtaking sea cliffs in the world.  The cliffs of Slieve League form the highest sea cliff face in Europe, yet it seems to escape most guide books and tourist trails.  It is most definitely a must when visiting Donegal!
