DERMOT MORGAN (1952-1998)

Dermot Morgan is the man behind the character Father Ted Crilly. Dermot is an established, if opressed comic in his own right who has suffered from being trodden under at R.T.E. the Irish Television Broadcaster. Dermot is probably previously better known for his show "Scrap Saturday" on Irish Radio 1 which was a run away success in its satirical critism and observational prowess of politics and life. Pauline McLynn (Mrs. Doyle) was also part of the team. Dermot died of a heart attack in 1998 days after completing the final series of Father Ted at the age of 45.
