I was delighted to see Skerries RFC on the Internet.

It is most impressive.

I just want to wish you all the very best for the forthcoming season, you

were most unlucky last time.

I have played against your club twice - for ARDS in division 4 of the AIL.

We beat you the first time but were overwhelmed in the second match at

Skerries.

Although Ards is nowhere near as skillfull a club as yours, we play with

fire and committment, and we were also unlucky not to proceed up the All

Ireland League last year.

Thanks for the superb hospitality that was shown to the Ards club over the

years, and long may we both prosper in our rugby.

One day we may play again in the same league - but it is becoming

increasingly more difficult in this professional era.

I have no doubt you will progress to AIL division one very soon.

All the very best.

B McG

Hi,

We're a University - level Touring side from the USA. We

are going to be coming to Ireland (Dublin) 20 March, 1998 to

29 March, 1998. I wanted to schedule some matches for this

time period. From you home page it looks a bit as if you're

out of our league, but you could go for a 'biggest winning

margin' record or some such nonsense. We toured in England

2 years ago, and it feels like a men's 'C' side or

university 'B' team might be what we are looking for. We

were thumped soundly by a mix of Birmingham Univ 'A' & 'B'

players. Also crushed by John Fisher School's Old Boys 'A'

side (99 points, NOT a new record).

We will be travelling mostly young guys (19-25), but an

'odd' old man may creep in (ME for instance) if they are not

too hurt at the time.

Anyhow, if there is interest for a match please contact me.

Hello Skerries:

I'm a junior ref. for the Texas RFU junior side (11-13 year olds). The

TRU junior division is just beginning to set up matches with juniors

around Ireland in May. Of course I would like to see our boys play one

of your junior sides. To be honest I want this for two reasons. First, I

have family just south of you in Rush. Second, I remember seeing some

junior matches, there, at the Skerries pitch. When I was told that the

TRU was going to begin plans for a junior tour of Ireland, I said, "we

gotta look into Skerries."

By the way, is Armagh in your division, When they came to Texas

several years ago, they played my side, Houston RFC. Even though we had

the Texas Summer heat beating down strong on the Armagh players, they

still beat us by a try.

Well, hope to hear from you soon.

Hi,

I am writing this to inform you of the 1997 British Lions Tour Web Site

(http://www.lionstour97.com), a comprehensive guide to the ongoing Lions

tour of South Africa. All the information you could ever want about the

Lions is already up on the site, including the history of the Lions,

team and player profiles, match schedule & reviews, news, venue info,

city guides, and so on. Our feature articles are supplied by the likes

of Robert Jones, Mick 'the Munch' Skinner, Bob Dwyer, Francois Pienaar,

Scott Hastings, and Ed Morrison.

We believe the site is really the single most complete source of

information for the Lions Tour. Of course we would! But I don't think

you'll be disappointed when you check it out.

It would be great if you could put up a link to our site on your 'Rugby

Just viewed your homepage fair play to you. But you see I have a theory.

I went to Kilkenny College and we always played against De la salle

Skerries. I recognise quite a few De la salle guys on your team. Now your

team is quite successful and because we always kicked the shite out of De

la Salle could you imagine how good Kilkenny would be if we had a club for

past pupils.

Seriously Had some great crack with skerries boys and tell Derek O'Sullivan

he's the worst centre I have ever played with. Is Alan Courrell playing

there still. I now play with Arklow the home of Rugby in Arklow (cause

there actually is no other team in Arklow) we're actually suffering a bit

of a crisis at the moment beause last December our second row (aged 19)

received a serious spinal injury and remains paralysed from the neck down.

There is every hope that he may get the use of his arms but we live in

hope. As you can imagine there is a massive fund raising effort and we are

currently orgainising an event in Arklow on the 4th of July and I'm selling

tickets. Please reply and let me Know if you'll help out.

don't get many competitive games beacause it is a small island and we have to
