Field -The Piano Concertos John O'Connor with the New Irish Chamber Orchestra, Conducted By Janos Fúrst |
On these recordings the entire Field concertos are recorded by one musician for the first time. On Fields bicentenary in 1982, John OConor recorded them in Maynooth College. The earliest concerto was published in 1799 when Field was seventeen years of age, and the last was published when he was fifty. Such is the importance of John Field that this record, in assembling the concertos for the first time, is a milestone, not only in terms of Irish music, but in the wider field of international music. |
