Nocturnes By John Field Veronica McSwiney |
John Field (1782-1837) was born in Dublin and died in Moscow, and is known as the originator of the Nocturne. His innovations had a telling influence on the later work of Chopin, who was four years old when Fields first Nocturne was published in 1814. Veronica MacSwiney, like Field a Dubliner, here interprets his entire output in this genre, in a recording which met with critical acclaim on its first publications. |
