Come
aboard the Valentia Ferry and you're on your way to wonderful Valentia
- a famous island measuring seven miles by three, just half a mile off
the ring of Kerry Road.
Aboard the ferry you'll enjoy the visual feast of Valentia Harbour with the island laid out before you on a five minute sailing. The picturesque village of knightstown - with its famous town clock was one of Ireland's first planned villages - superbly designed by the British architect Nimmo and built in the early 1800's. Should
you visit outside this period don't worry, we also have a bridge ( the
longest opening span bridge in Ireland). You'll have to travel an extra
12 KM to Portmagee and enter Valentia at the other side, but the journey
is always worth it.
