Congratulations to former Belvedere player Wesley Hoolahan ( Blackpool ) on winning his first senior international cap for the Republic of Ireland against Columbia on Thursday 29th May 2008. Wes came off the bench late in the match to help Ireland secure a 1 - 0 win in this friendly international at Fullam's Cravan Cottage Stadium, London. 

Wes played for Belvedere from the age of seven until he signed for Shelbourne in the eircom Premier League at 18. From Shels he signed for Livingston in the Scottish Premier League before transferring to English Championship side Blackpool, where he has impressed greatly since his arrival in 2006 

He becomes the seventh Belvedere player to be capped at senior international level for the Republic of Ireland.
