DDSL Under 10A Condron Cup
Stella Maris 4 - 2 Belvedere F.C.
In the only Belvedere fixture to beat the weather this weekend, the Under 10's switched their day to Saturday to play Stella Maris in the Condron Cup at Richmond Road.
From the kick off, Belvo attacked and they went into an early two goal lead, thanks to excellent finishing by Craig English who scored twice within the first ten minutes.
Belvo continued to take the game to their opponents and they pressurised the home defence in search of a 3rd goal. However, Stella Maris managed to pull a goal back five minutes later when they caught Belvo on the break
With Belvo still pushing forward in search of a third goal, the hosts equalised just before half time when they caught their visitors out at the back with a nice counter attacking move.
Soon after the restart, Stella Maris went ahead when they scored from another counter attack, and they secured victory close to the end with a well taken 4th goal when they again caught the Belvo out at the back.
This was a game that produced some good football from both of these young sides, helped also the referee Frank who allowed the play to flow.
Good performances on the day for Belvo came from goalkeeper James Collier, defenders Brandan Hawkins and Sean Teeling, while Aaron Parrott and Jake Hyland were also impressive in mid-field.
Belvo manager Dave Teeling was very pleased with his teams' performance, and felt that with a bit of luck on the day they might have had a better result.

Stand in 'keeper Brandan Hawkins was solid for Belvo, as were defenders Sean Teeling, Marcus Broughill and Dean Henney. Aaron Parrott turned in a great display in mid-field, while Evan Flynn on the left was also impressive.

DDSL Under 10A League
Ballyfermot United 3 - 2 Belvedere F.C.
Leading one nil after 10 minutes thanks to Niall Doyle's well taken goal, Belvedere dropped their guard somewhat after this and conceded 2 goals to Ballyfermot before the half time break. The home team then went further ahead early in the second half as the Belvo defence was again caught napping.
Belvo should have reduced the deficit mid-way through the second half, but they failed to convert a penalty kick. However, with 10 minutes remaining, Craig English produced a great finish to score Belvo's second goal.
The last few minutes of the match were hectic as Belvo threw everything they had at Ballyfermot in search of an equaliser, but despite creating a number of chances they failed to score that all important third goal.
Manager Dave Teeling, although disappointed to loose, was none the less pleased with his team's commitment on the day and felt that with a bit of luck Belvedere could have salvaged at least a point.
