Seven A-Side Teams Progressing Well
Both Belvedere Under 8’s and Under 9’s seven a-side teams have had a great start to the season and as we are now at the Christmas Break, Martin Cooke has given us his assessment of the season so far.
“Last seasons most of our Under 8’s were actually Under 7 and this season they have showed the benefit of playing together for that year. Its very early and a bit dangerous to start talking about winning but having moved up 6 sections in the Under 8 league they have adapted very well to the change of pace of the games and the higher standard of football in which they now find themselves.
However
using results, only as an indicator, they have only lost once but, win, lose or
draw they are showing an increasing maturity and their development can be seen.
At this young age, development and the pace of that development can vary between
different players and we will be monitoring the progress of these players over
the second half of the season. So it’s a case of
... A lot done more to do.”

We now
have a great basis for the second part of the season. One aspect of this season
so far is the number of time they have been behind in games and have come back
to win. This is a clear indication of their determination and also the belief
they have in themselves. It also shows their character and the confidence they
now have in their own ability.”
