Belvedere Player of the Year Awards 2007/08 |
The Belvedere Player of the Year Awards for 2007/08 were presented by Treasurer Martin Cooke on Tuesday 3rd March 2009 following the memorial match at Whitehall. Gary Burke was named Belvedere Player of the Year, while the Young Player of the Year went to Darragh Lenihan.
Treasurer Martin Cooke presents Gary Burke with the Belvedere Player of the Year Award 2007/08 A player with Belvedere for the last ten seasons, Gary first joined at Under 8, playing 7side football . A highly skillful and creative player, he was part of the Belvedere SFAI Under 15 Evans Cup winning team in 2007, and also won the DDSL Under 16 Premier League last season. Gary is a student at Larkin Community College and has been capped for the Republic of Ireland Schools International team this season, playing his part in their recent 3 - 1 win over Wales in Wexford on Thursday 26th February last.
Belvedere Young Player of the Year 2007/08 Darragh Lenihan is presented with his award by Treasurer Martin Cooke Young Player of the Year Darragh plays with Belvedere Under 14's this season and has been with the club for a number of years. He captained Belvedere Under 12's to their Tony Ryan Cup win in 2007. A great leader on the pitch, he has also played with the DDSL representative team. Darragh is the third member of his family to play for Belvedere, following on from his older brothers Donal and Conor who had great success with the Under 17's winning the FAI Under 17 and Youth Cups in 2005.
