Top Goalkeeping Coaching Award for Belvedere's Gerard Mooney

{short description of image}

Congratulations are due to Belvedere's goalkeeping coach Gerard Mooney on his recent achievement.

Gerard was one of only five participants, from a group of 16 to be awarded the Scottish FA's top goalkeeping licence.

He participated in the SFA Goalkeeping Licence Diploma, which was a six day residential course, held in Largs, near Glasgow in June 2006.

Gerard's achievement is all the more noteworthy considering that the other four successful candidates are all working full time in professional football, the most notable being Terry Gennoe who has recently been appointed Newcastle United goalkeeping coach.

This award follows the Scottish FA Intermediate Goalkeeping Certificate, which Gerard gained in May 2006.

Goalkeeper coach with Vincent Butler's Republic of Ireland Under 15's, Gerard also holds the FAI / UEFA 'B' Goalkeeping Coaching Licence which he gained in 2002.
